Homeward Bound is a project focusing on women in domestic spaces—women who have been encouraged to stay hidden and confined within the home, despite their active, successful roles in Iranian society as doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, and more. They are told it is best for them to obey their husbands, do the housework, and give birth to children. They hear, "We value you too much; this is all for your own good." The objects photographed in this series were passed down to me by the women in my family—objects that carry the weight of tradition, expectation, and resilience. Through these images, I explore the tension between societal narratives and personal realities, shedding light on the strength and individuality of women who, despite the walls built around them, continue to shape the world beyond their domestic boundaries.
